  • Dave, Age 2 yrs at Doggie District Silverado

Dave is a super handsome tri-color Basset boy, 2 years old. Great with everyone, charming personality. Short coat length. Brown, black and white.

Good with children, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Daphne, Age 2 yrs 5 months at Doggie District Silverado

Daphne is a beautiful tri-color Beagle with what’s known as a “blue” coat. At a little over 2 year old, Daphne has outgrown her puppy behaviors and is a well-balanced dog with terrific house manners. Unfortunately, Daphne’s family had a baby on the way and was forced to move from a home into an apartment, which made giving Daphne the care and attention she needs impossible. If you are a Beagle fan, have we got the girl for you!

Good with children, other dogs, cats, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Doddles, Age 10 yrs 10 months at Doggie District Silverado

Doodles is a real character, and looks and acts nothing like the 10 year old hound we know him to be. He has the classic heart-shaped Basset front legs and is a true lover of people and other animals. He also always seems to be smiling, which is unusual for our traditionally sad-looking breed. Of course, we know bassets are a truly happy, fun-loving breed, and we can’t think of a better example than Doodles to prove that’s true. Doodles’ previous owner went into a nursing home and there were no family members to care for him. Doodles is currently boarding and is in need of either a foster or permanent home as soon as possible.

Good with children, other dogs, cats, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Snoopy, Age 7 yrs 1 month at Doggie District North

Snoopy is a Las Vegas Basset Rescue alumni back with LVBR looking for a new family. Sadly, his previous adopter passed away during heart surgery, leaving behind a heartbroken Snoopy. But, he’s eager to love–and be loved–once again. Snoopy is a classic Bagel–part Basset, part Beagle. He has a soft, luxurious coat that’s been liberally sprinkled by the Freckle Fairy! This orphaned boy has a gentle, happy disposition. He’s approx. 7-8 years old, so is settled and well-behaved, but still active enough to enjoy walks and trips to the dog park.

Good with children, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Buttercup, Age 5 yrs 5 months at Doggie District North

Sweet little Buttercup is a 5 year old tri-color Basset girl who loves to go on walks. She’s very well trained to a leash and greets everyone in a gentle manner. She goes up to people for attention, but waits politely for them to acknowledge her. Buttercup loves kids, there were children in her former home. She came to us when her previous family could no longer care for her.

Good with children, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Flash, Age 6 yrs 5 months at Doggie District North

My name is Flash. If I could talk, I’d tell you about my few years before rescue. But, since I can’t speak human you’ll just have to consider me a handsome and lovable Mystery Man. Las Vegas Basset Rescue found me at the shelter and said they’d help me out. The shelter named me Flash. If you want to change it, you most certainly can. I’ll be your buddy no matter what you call me–just call me! I wasn’t able to carry my birth certificate around on my travels, so they are guessing I’m about 6 years old. Like they say: you’re as old as you feel, and I feel pretty young! I’d love for my traveling days to be over….unless you want me to travel with you on vacation–that would be fun.

Good with children, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Rebecca, Age 2 yrs 8 mo at Doggie District North

Rebecca is a possible Basset–Bulldog mix. She’s approx. 2 years old. She’s ready to play with another dog, after she gets over her initial shyness. Rebecca needs the focus of exercise and play in order to be happy, so she needs a home where she’ll receive an abundance of both. Another dog in the home with her level of energy would help with this. She’d do best in a home with a woman, because she has shown us to be fearful of men. But maybe with a patient and gentle male, she would have the chance of coming around. These are all things that we can work on with her adopter, if guidance is needed.

Good with children, not good with cats, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Goliath, Age 10 yrs at Doggie District North

Goliath is one hunky “bagel,” a.k.a. beagle-basset mix. Goliath, who was originally adopted from a local shelter in 2004, is 8-9 yrs. old and recently passed his senior wellness exam with flying colors. He is overweight, but it’s not because of an underactive thyroid, it’s a condition we like to call TMG, or “too many groceries.” Goliath came to Las Vegas Basset Rescue following a divorce, but he shows no signs of being anything but willing to trust and love again. If you’d like to be the one to give Goliath a final forever home, and help him get rid of some of those extra groceries, we’d love to hear from you.

Good with children, cats, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.

  • Jazzy, Age 3 yrs 5 months at Doggie District North

Jazzy has quite a story to tell, if she could talk. Las Vegas Basset Rescue received a call from a concerned road traveler about a Basset seen being dumped on Hwy. 95 in Goldfield, NV. A kindly sheriff’s officer in the area came on the scene to help. He took Jazzy into his home until we could arrange a relay meeting to get her into our rescue. Of course, as soon as we saw Miss Jazzy we said “Beagle!”–maybe with a little Basset in her DNA. But, what the hey–we seem to be a refuge for several Beagles lately. This gentle, but lively, little lady was in need. She’s been spayed, vaccinated, and is ready for a new home. The vet guesstimates her age at approx. 3 years. She’s about 40 lbs., and is quite the sniffer of all she surveys. Typical nose-to-the-ground Beagle. We’ve not heard her to be a loud or noisy lady. Just needs love.

Good with children, other dogs, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered/spayed.
